| IRON Deficiency Anaemia is a common
type of anaemia in women of child-bearing age due to absolute
or relatie deficiency of iron. |

SYMPTOMS |
- Easy, fatigue, breathlessness on exertion, giddiness,
dimness of vision, pallor of the skin and mucous membranes,
anorexia, tingling sensation, palpitation, oedema
of the ankles, dilatation of the heart, heart murmur,
etc.

- Glossitis with a sore red tongue.
|
- Brittle, dry spoon-shapped nails.
|
- Pale, scanty menstruation.
|
- Dysphagia, hypochlorhydia and numbness may be present.

PROGNOSIS |
| If untreated, the condition runs a prolonged and progressive
course. Prognosis as regards lifeis not serious. But if
left untreated, may lead to a lowered esistance against
infection. |

TREATMENT |
| Moderate activities considering the capacity of the
patient and the degree of anaemia are to be advised. A
well-balanced iron-rich diet is to be prescribed to meet
the iron needs of the patient as and when necessary. |
| This acts as a precautionary measure against infection.

| Ferrum phosphoricum china, Arsenicalba, Lecithin and
Avena are all dependable medicines. |
